Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy

Change of mind returns

Change of mind returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, subject to the following conditions:

  • Products must be unused, unassembled, and in original undamaged packaging.
  • Return shipping is at the customer's cost. GSS does not provide return labels for change of mind returns.
  • A restocking fee of 15% applies to all accepted change of mind returns to cover freight, handling, and inspection costs.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the returned goods.

Excluded from change of mind returns: custom-cut or made-to-order shelving, bulk/pallet orders of 10+ bays, and clearance or heavily discounted items marked "final sale".


Damaged or incorrect goods

GSS products are shipped via pallet freight. Inspect your delivery carefully before signing the carrier's delivery receipt.

If goods arrive visibly damaged, note the damage on the delivery docket before signing. Do not refuse delivery — 

  • — accepting with noted damage protects your claim.
  • Report concealed damage or missing items to sales@garageshelvingsolutions.com.au within 48 hours of delivery, with photos of the damage, packaging, and packing slip.
  • Claims submitted after 48 hours may be declined at our discretion.
  • If an incorrect product is sent, we will arrange collection and resend the correct item at no cost to you.

Why 48 hours? Our freight carriers require damage claims to be lodged promptly. Late reports cannot be escalated to the carrier, limiting our ability to recover costs and arrange replacement stock.

 

 

Warranty

5-year structural warranty

 

GSS heavy-duty steel shelving is backed by a 5-year structural warranty from date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. This reflects our confidence in the quality and durability of our product.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by overloading beyond the stated load rating per shelf or bay.
  • Damage from improper assembly, modification, or use outside of intended purpose.
  • Surface rust, scratching, or cosmetic wear from normal use or outdoor/high-moisture exposure.
  • Damage resulting from accidents, misuse, or acts of third parties.
  • Products that have been cut, drilled, welded, or otherwise structurally modified after purchase.

To make a warranty claim, email sales@garageshelvingsolutions.com.au with your order number, a description of the fault, and supporting photos. Approved warranty claims will be resolved by replacement parts, replacement product, or store credit — at GSS's discretion.


Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled free of charge before dispatch. Once an order has been dispatched:

  • Cancellations are treated as a change of mind return and the 15% restocking fee applies.
  • If goods have already been booked with a freight carrier, any freight costs already incurred will be deducted from the refund.

To request a cancellation, email sales@garageshelvingsolutions.com.au with your order number as soon as possible.

 

Dealer & trade purchases

Orders placed through the GSS dealer network or on trade accounts are subject to separate dealer trading terms agreed at the time of account setup. The consumer change of mind policy above does not apply to wholesale or dealer orders.

Damaged or short-shipped dealer orders must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photographic evidence and a signed delivery docket noting damage.

 

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our products come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. If a product has a major failure, you are entitled to a replacement or refund. For minor failures, we will provide a free repair, replacement, or partial refund as appropriate.

How to lodge a return or claim

  1. Email sales@garageshelvingsolutions.com.au with your order number and reason for return or claim.
  2. Attach clear photos of the product, packaging, and any visible damage or fault.
  3. Our team will respond within 2 business days with next steps.
  4. Do not ship any goods back without written authorisation from GSS — unauthorised returns will not be accepted.
